Raising animals is a key part of living off the land. The up front cost to acquire animals and build an enclosure can be unattainable for rural people. In conjunction with Resource Development International Cambodia, we establish proper facilities, provide animals, and most importantly give education on how to raise them.

This major program is currently under consideration for restructuring. Multiple factors are driving this evaluation:

• Significant animal health concerns raised the burden of management with blue nose disease for pigs and avian flu for birds

• Commodity prices are also going down with more seasonal market fluctuations, resulting in less profitable outcomes

• Initial animal acquisition costs are going down

• Long-term project performance
