Bos Kralanh Village is on the outskirts of Siem Reap, but if the rains are strong it may as well be on the other side of the world. The roads are normally acceptable but this year it was extremely difficult to travel back and forth. The village elders are trying to address a similar transportation issue: Bicycles for school children. Many poor families can not afford a bike. If they don't get one of the few donated each year, the kids entering into 8th grade and high school simply can't get there.
Over the years I built up a number of gifts to give to family and friends. Many of these items I enjoyed for some time as my own. The simple pleasure of tangible reminders can be replaced. An education for a child is far more important. Therefore, I am selling the vast majority of the items I purchased to fund this project. Please take a look at the items below and contact me at sam "at" buildingcambodia.org if you would like to purchase one. All proceeds go toward purchasing bikes in the village, I will not keep any funds to make up for the original purchase price.

UPDATE (9/19/11): Free-will donation of $100 and two items gone for $50 (30% more than asking rate!). Three bicycles are now set for the village! Keep up the great work!
UPDATE (10/2/11): Multiple items turned into $160 on Sunday, bringing the net total to $310! That's a fantastic job so far. I'll be at Hutto Discovery on Sunday, Oct 9th to hopefully raise more.
Final Update (11/7/11): Thank you all for the donations and generous contributions. We raised over $700 for kids in need. I still have many items left, so feel free to email me if you didn't get something you wanted. It might still be available, or I might have something close that didn't make it to the event.
